You Need To Take A Road Trip

There are so many different ways to have a vacation. You can go on a cruise, head to the beach, or go skiing and snowboarding in the mountains, but the ultimate vacation that everyone needs to experience is a wide open road trip across America. Just one of those trips that have no rules, no scheduled stops, and no final destination. Those are the types of trips that you will get to see and experience new things and remember for the rest of your life.

Stress Free Feelings

The first great thing about being on the open road is the stress free feeling that comes over you. You can put on your iPod, select your favorite band, roll the windows down, and sing at the top of your lungs while the wind blows in your face. There is no need to stress about getting somewhere on time or not making reservations because for once you will be in total and complete control of the vacation. You can go anywhere you want, stop at any place that you want, or even stay in some random town for the rest of your trip. You just never know what or who you will come across when you are on the wide open road.

The second greatest thing about being on the open road is the food (depending on where you eat, this could actually be number one). Many times on vacation you find yourself eating out at fast food joints, bringing sandwiches for lunch, and eating at a few local touristy restaurants around the town. When you’re on the open road though, you have the freedom to experience those random mom and pop diners that have the best food in the country. You get to take your time and get out of the car for a while and even talk to a few locals about the town. You never know what else some random town in the Midwest has to offer that you would have never known otherwise.

The third greatest thing about being on the open road is the attractions. So many Americans have yet to see some of the biggest and most known attractions in this country like the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains, or even Yellowstone and Yosemite National Park. Seeing these types of places are breathtaking and it is one thing that every good blooded American should see. There is so much beauty around the United States that people just seem to forget.

Take a Back Road

The last thing that I would recommend when taking the ultimate road trip is to stay off the main highways and interstates. Explore those two lane backgrounds and who cares if you get lost. Remember you have no destination so one of those roads could lead you to your new favorite town that just happens to be 30 minutes away from the nearest highway. Just let loose and let the freedom take you wherever it happens to.  Just start up your car and let the crate engine roar and take off to that unknown destination.
