Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay – Romantic Getaway At Its Best – Hotel Review

One of my favorite locations in the world is Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. This resort, north of Mazatlan, Mexico, is the very picture of serenity and tranquility. It’s set on a 20 acre area, on a nearly private horseshoe-shaped beach. While the Golden Zone of Mazatlan has hundreds of restaurants, hotels, bars and shops, this area is quiet and secluded, perfect for a romantic beach getaway. There are no beach vendors hawking their wares. My husband and I LOVE this feature. When you go up the … [Read more...]

Take a Tour or Hire Your Own Driver?

So, you’re in a tourist area and you want to see the sites. You see lots of tour options, what should you do? I highly recommend you consider hiring a private driver. It has lots of benefits, plus it can add a little romance to couple getaways! In Mazatlan, a popular tour I’ve been on several times is to Copala and Concordia, two small mountain towns. It’s really a fun tour. You get to see old Mexico and meet adorable kids. Recently, my husband and I were going to go on this tour. We were the … [Read more...]

There are zillions of sites and checklists to help you pack, but for romantic getaways, you might consider these extras: 1)      iPod plus decent speakers-Nowadays, this is super simple. When my husband and I first got married, it took some serious effort…packing CDs, a CD player and some computer speakers we took from home. Now, you just need an iPod or other MP3 player and you can often forgo the speakers. 2)      Candles-Ignite your getaway with candles. Nothing sets the mood quite like … [Read more...]

Hotel Review – The Roosevelt in Seattle

The Roosevelt Hotel in downtown Seattle is a classic retreat in the heart of the city. My husband and I recently enjoyed our couple getaway at this stately hotel, as part of the Ultimate Shopping Package. First off, the location is amazing. The Roosevelt is located on the corner of 7th and Pine. It’s across the street from the Convention Center and Pacific Place. It’s also near Nordstrom, City Centre, and Macy’s. It’s easy walking distance to Westlake Center. The Roosevelt is surrounded by … [Read more...]

Hotel Review – Red Lion in Olympia WA

My husband and I recently stayed at the Red Lion in Olympia WA. We were guests at a family wedding. I was quite pleased with this hotel! The hotel is situated on a lovely campus with trees and a view of Capitol Lake. The even numbered rooms have this gorgeous view.  Even though it's just minutes away from downtown Olympia, the location feels secluded. We were in a room with two queen beds. The decor was nice, nothing special. I'm not crazy about bedspreads, but that was the only drawback. The room … [Read more...]
